Arif S. Kinchen became a household face when he portrayed La Marr Hicks, office assistant to Maxey Sparks, (played by Miguel A. Nunez, Jr.) on the UPN show "Sparks". It's a role that afforded the actor the
opportunity to reach a large youth oriented fan base. Although Arif has many professional credits and interests in television, commercials, film and hip hop music, his role in "Sparks" has a special place in his heart. "La
Marr was a lot like I was as a teenager," Arif explains. "I identified with him so much that sometimes I had to catch myself when I talked about him…" The role translated into Arif's personal life as he serves as a role model to
young adults—speaking at high schools, youth programs and community centers around the country. Arif has played a very personal and positive role in the lives of some of Zera Foundation's foster kids, and we thank him for his
