How God Sees Us
by Willie Hudson When a child is born to a proud father, that child is special and one of a kind. Although physically he is not any different from any other child, to this father, he is the only
child in the world. There is nothing this child can do to displace the love of his/her father. If anything should come against this child, the father would be the first to shield and protect his child from adversity.
His father would provide his child with everything he needs to grow strong and complete. When the child is hungary, his father feeds him. When the child is cold, his father makes him warm. When the child needs comfort,
his father provides peace. When the child is sick, his father provides a cure. The child develops a STRONG FAITH his father is always with him. Through the "grace" (unmerited favor) given to this child at
"birth", he is declared "righteous" (right standing) by his father. It is through our acceptance of Christ Jesus (our new "birth") that we are given because of His grace the gift of
righteousness. We are declared righteous. Paul writes, "to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus" (Rom. 3:26).
Righteousness is a gift. I don't have to "do" anything to get it, I just have to receive it. I received righteousness at the same time I received Christ Jesus. Paul continues, "for if by one man's offence
death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Rom. 5:17). "For as by one man's disobedience many were made
sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous" (Rom. 5:19). These same scriptures, the Word of God, let's me know I cannot out sin the grace of God. "But where sin abounded, grace did much
more abound" (Rom. 5:20).
Learning this lesson and confessing the scriptures that tell me about my righteousness with God, elevates me to another level. I move to a higher level in how I live and how I
pray. The impact of knowing that I am righteous with the one true living God is awesome. Throughout history, man has been in search of a way to become as one with divinity. He has sacrificed animals, embalmed his flesh,
and even sacrificed his own children, but none of these acts have put man any closer than I am with a confession and belief in my heart that Jesus Christ has already done all this for me. I pray knowing that Christ
Jesus has removed any and all obstacles that stand between me and my Father.
When I go through my daily routines, I perform my tasks as though my Father is looking at me only. If I should come across anything in
my day which I feel may hamper or come against me in any way, my right standing with God makes me call out to Him for assistance. Before this lesson, my prayer life existed in the morning and evening hours. Knowing
about how righteous I am with God, allows me to "whisper" to Him all day because He hears the voice of every child that is righteous in His sight, because He sees us through Christ Jesus. I understand when I
talk to people, I have a "gentle" confidence to know that through my obedience, I am on the level eye to eye with my Father.
This position of righteousness with our Father should be a boost to our
faith. I not only must remember this word, but ACT like it is a fact in my life. Faith is ACTING on the word of God. God's word says, we are righteous through Jesus Christ, therefore the action of our faith is
righteous. The way we live, the way we pray, the way we treat others are actions of our righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ with God. I do this out of my love for Him, and through my love comes my obedience.
From my obedience, comes the blessings of God. It is small wonder that Satan comes to rob, kill, and destroy. I can almost understand why he does not want us to know we have this power. Our challenge is to remain
"righteousness minded".
We are as that child born to a proud father. We asre one of a kind. Although there are other children who are physically the same as we are, to our Father, we are His and His
alone. We can go before the very throne room of our Father, and it will be OK, because we are righteous and that's how he sees His children through Christ Jesus. |
