Willie Hudson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, relocated to Compton, California at age 5 and is currently a Project Manager for a worldwide, high tech manufacturing company. Raised
by his mother, Willie remembers well how she struggled working two jobs to purchase their first home in Compton. After Willie's graduation from Compton Senior High in 1968, he attended Pepperdine
University. Working with many children in the Compton community, Willie developed the city's first swim team. In one summer, he taught over 200 children to swim proficiently and the skills
necessary to swim competitively. Willie established Zera Foundation upon learning of the neglect of children in the Foster/Group Home Care System. "These young people are turned out into
society at age 18 unprepared to handle life. Eventually, they return to the 'system' ending up in jail, on welfare or homeless. I want to break this tragic cycle." |
