What possibly could a Foundation such as Zera accomplish without volunteers? You can greatly influence the lives of one or more young
people by providing authentic, caring relationships. Do you have the ability to make a young person feel important? The building of a strong self image and self-esteem is so very important in dealing with
Foster and Group Home children. If you have this ability, then we need you. The following are just a few ways in which you can become involved with the children of Zera Foundation. Mentors Mentors are special adult volunteers that commit to befriending one or more young people over a
period of time. These adult leaders commit to spending one or two hours per week with a young person, getting to know him or her and allowing the young person the opportunity to see a positive, moral life lived
out before them. Mentors have the opportunity to touch young people in ways that the best youth programs never will. Because mentors give individualized attention, share from their own experiences and show
young people that they care by spending regular time with them, they are able to significantly impact the lives of the young people they are working with. Supporters Supporters are people who serve on an as-needed basis in specific areas to assist the Foundation with
its young people. Supporters can assist in areas such as transportation (driving or lending a vehicle), chaperoning youth events, hosting social activities for the young people in their home and providing
refreshments for youth events. These are just a few ways that adults who may not have a lot of time to help on a weekly basis can participate in the lives of our young people. Prayer Partners There is no way our Foundation can move ahead without the power of prayer. People
who commit to being prayer partners will pledge to pray daily for our youth and the success of the Foundation in helping them. Although prayer partners work "behind the scenes" your support will be felt
each time a caring adult provides counsel, transportation or spends time helping to establish a healthy self-esteem and positive self image for foster children who have been so robbed in these areas. |
